FDA approval of Azilsartan to hypertension treatment

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has the angiotensin II receptor blockers Azilsartan-Medoximil (Edarbi, Takeda) for the treatment of adults with hypertension allowed.

Azilsartan blocks such as losartan, valsartan or olmesartan the angiotensin II receptor. In clinical studies, it lowered the 24-hour blood pressure than valsartan and olmesartan. The Tolerability was good. Azilsartan Do not take during pregnancy.
For the European approval of the documents Takeda filed in October 2010 for the EMA.
