The Committee for Human Use (CHMP) of the EMEA has recommended in its meeting in February 2011 add to the contraindications for vernakalant.
In the contraindications of vernakalant (BRINAVESS, MSD Merck Sharp & Dohme) is to be the time between vernakalant administration and intravenous administration of other antiarrhythmic drugs (class I and III) extended to four hours.
