The Committee for Human Use (CHMP) of the EMA has begun the review of pholcodine.
The Committee reviews the risk of anaphylactic reaction by pholcodine in patients who received muscle relaxants in anesthesia. In countries where Phlocodin is no longer commercially available, a decrease of anaphylactic reactions was observed on muscle relaxants.
