FDA reviewed risk for heart attacks in abacavir-taking
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is examining whether there is a connection between the use of abacavir and Herzinfarken.
The treatment of HIV-infected individuals with antiviral abacavir went on observational studies and a randomized controlled trial, associated with an increased risk of heart attack. In other studies, these findings could not be confirmed. A meta-analysis of 26 studies led the FDA also no increased risk of heart attack while taking abacavir.
